Chiang Mai is the first rank "City of culture" vote by all Thai people. Chaing Mai is the capital city of old kingdom called Lanna kingdom, for over 700 years till now but under Thai kingdom. And Lanna has the East side and West side, Chiang Mai is locate on the west. The Chiang Mai and Lannanese people they never called them self Thai people they call them self "Kon muang"(Lannanese) and the call them language "Gum Muang". And for local Lannanese they don't call Chiang Mai they call "Jiang Mai", cause Chiang Mai is the Thai word not Lannanese word. So they still keep them culture etc, dance, food, cloth, music, music instruments, alphabets
